The Concept Of Team Based Organizations - 795 Words

Team-Based Organizations The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of team-based organizations. It provides an overview and definition of this concept. Furthermore, the concept of team-based organization is explored and advantages and disadvantages phased by organizations using this strategy is provided. In addition, the paper introduce4s the concept of employee motivation, its effectiveness, and effect on employee morale and organizational culture. Team Based Organization-Defined A team-based organization is a company that relays on a team making decisions together and working as a unit to achieve team and company objectives. Gray (n.d.) states that â€Å"Team-based organizations require that all employees participate in the decision-making process†. Below the structure, benefits, and disadvantages this kind of strategy might bring to a company are discussed. Structure â€Å"A team based organizational structure is composed teams of employees achieve progress toward a common goal while completing individual tasks (Gray, n.d)†. Gray (n.d.) states that â€Å"Team-based organizations are less hierarchical, and they exhibit more flexible structures that foster problem-solving, participation in decision-making and teamwork to achieve organizational goals† However, in order for a team based organizational structure to succeed, the team(s) need to understand the critical success factors of a team based organization.
